Challenge to war tribunal judges rejected
The High Court on Tuesday summarily rejected a writ petition challenging the appointment of two High Court judges to the post of the chairman and a member of the International Crimes Tribunal set up for trying the 1971 crimes against humanity. A division bench comprising Justice Mamnoon Rahman and Justice Syeda Afsar Jahan passed the order after holding hearing on the petition. Barrister Abdur Razzaq, a central leader of the Jamaat-e-Islami and counsel for petitioners, toldthat they will file an appeal with the Appellate Davison to overturn the HC order after receiving the certified copy of the order.
